Per Mertesacker's rise at Arsenal was incredible – from player to club captain, and later appointed as academy manager.
The former Germany international joined the club on transfer deadline day in August 2011 and went on to win three Emirates FA Cup titles with us.
Not only that, but of his eight goals for us, his first was in the north London derby, one came in an FA Cup semi-final, and another in a final.
