New club, new league, new country. Isabella Damm can’t wait to get started at Arsenal.

She’s also looking forward to joining our goalkeeper union and learning from the likes of Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe.

Speaking in her first club interview at the Sobha Realty Training Centre, Damm said: “It feels amazing. It has been a long process, but I can't wait to get started. I think it was the right timing because I was there in my career where I had to move on from Brondby and the club has such a big culture. I'm just getting excited just to know how the culture works here."

Going back to the start when Damm first got into football, our new recruit explained what drew her to the sport and who her idols were growing up.

"I was playing in kindergarten with the boys and I loved it from there and since then, I've just kept going. I just loved it at first sight.

"I have two Danish players [that I looked up to], Pernille Harder and Nanna Christiansen. She played for my club and she just retired, so a big idol. I think maybe [Ann-Katrin] Berger and Daphne [van Domselaar] are also really good. Good people to be around."

Damm will now be joining a strong goalkeeping union at the club, providing the opportunity to develop and learn from the likes of Daphne and Anneke Borbe.

"I'm just excited to learn from them on the pitch and off the pitch," she added. "The group sounds amazing and on social media I can follow everything. They seem great and I have trained with them sometimes."

Reflecting on her time at Brondby, Damm continued: "I have learned a lot and I can't thank them enough for what I've become. They have trusted me a lot and I think that's the biggest thing I can say.

"I hope to be the first-team goalkeeper in this club and just to become the player I want to be and the person I want to be, and just being in the culture and learning from everybody here. I think that's the biggest thing I want to achieve."
