Toppling European giants, remarkable comebacks and dramatic winners, there isn't much our home hasn't seen since its grand opening in 2006.

Here, we examine 20 of the greatest moments N5 has seen.

ROCKING REAL MADRID

Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid, 2025

When defending Champions League winners Real Madrid rocked up at Emirates Stadium for the quarter-final first leg, something special was in the air.

After an enthralling first 45 minutes, the second half was lit up by two very special free-kicks from Declan Rice. The first curved around the wall beyond Thibaut Courtois before our midfielder stuck his next effort right into the top corner. 

Mikel Merino's composed finish put us in dreamland as we overwhelmed our Spanish opponents to help us put one foot in the semi-finals.

DOWMAN THE HISTORY MAKER

Arsenal 2-0 Everton, 2026

A victory over Everton in N5 in March 2026 would go a long way to helping us secure a first Premier League title in 22 years. 

But a stubborn Toffees backline meant the game ticket into 90 minutes still 0-0. Viktor Gyokeres broke the deadlock with a tap in before the clinching moment was made by teenager Max Dowman.

The super sub danced past two players before running the ball into the empty net, sending the stadium into raptures to secure his place as the youngest Premier League goalscorer in history.

WELBECK'S WINNER

Arsenal 2-1 Leicester City, 2016

A battle between two of the title rivals was the setting on Valentine's Day 2016, and it looked like heartbreak was in the air when Jamie Vardy slammed home his first-half penalty.

Theo Walcott levelled to set up an enthralling finish, which was capped off by a glancing Danny Welbeck header to send the Emirates into pandemonium.

MADRID COMEBACK

Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid Women, 2025

Following a 2-0 defeat in the first leg, the odds looked stacked against Renee Slegers' side for the quarter-final second leg at Emirates.

With the game at 0-0 at half-time, we turned on the style in the second half with three goals in a remarkable 13-minute passage.

Two from Alessia Russo and one from Mariona Caldentey capped off a special evening in N5.

NELSON'S MOMENT

Arsenal 3-2 Bournemouth, 2023

Disaster was on the cards after just 10 seconds at Emirates when we fell behind to Bournemouth in March 2023. Marcos Senesi headed home a second for the Cherries and defeat looked a certainty.

But a late fightback saw us level the match in a whirlwind contest in N5. The crowning moment came in stoppage time as Martin Odegaard's corner was headed into the path of Reiss Nelson. Our academy graduate steadied himself before unleashing his effort into the corner to send Emirates wild and cap off an epic comeback.

STUNNING BAYERN

Arsenal 2-0 Bayern Munich Women, 2023

Two years before Real Madrid, there was our incredible comeback against Bayern Munich in the Women's Champions League.

After losing out in the first leg 1-0 at the Allianz Arena, all eyes were on Emirates Stadium to see if we could turn things around. 

We didn't disappoint. Frida Maanum's remarkable strike, followed by Stina Blackstenius' clincher, saw us progress to the UWCL semi-finals for the first time in a decade.

EDGE OF GREATNESS

Arsenal 1-0 Burnley, 2026

Having won 1-0 at West Ham United, supporters gathered in their thousands to welcome our first team before our match with Burnley, knowing a win would take us to the brink of the Premier League title.

Facing already-relegated Burnley, Kai Havertz rose highest to nod home Bukayo Saka's corner to get us off to the flying start. 

Our defence showed it's resolve once more to hoover up another clean sheet and throw the pressure onto Manchester City's trip to Bournemouth. Within 24 hours, we were champions once again.

PENALTY DRAMA

Arsenal (4-2p) 1-0 FC Porto, 2024

We hadn't reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 14 years, and that unwanted record looked like continuing as we went into our round of 16 second leg trailing 1-0 to Porto.

Martin Odegaard's inch-perfect assist for Leandro Trossard ensured the match went all the way to penalties on a big night at Emirates Stadium.

David Raya plunged low to make two heroic saves to send us through the last eight as we banished the round of 16 hoodoo.

BARCA BEATEN

Arsenal 2-1 Barcelona, 2011

A daunting task faced Arsene Wenger's side in February 2011 as we took on Pep Guardiola's FC Barcelona. 

David Villa put the UCL favourites in front before a stirring comeback rocked N5 on a special Champions League night under the lights.

Robin van Persie netted from an almost impossible angle before Andrei Arshavin finished off a lightning-quick counter-attack to give us a 2-1 victory over the Catalans.

FIRST TROPHY LIFTED

Arsenal 3-2 Corinthians Women, 2026

For all our successes in the past 20 years, Emirates Stadium was still missing a first ever competitive trophy lift within its walls.

That all changed at the start of 2026 when we hosted the final of the first FIFA Women's Champions Cup. Taking on Brazilian side Corinthians, Olivia Smith, Lotte Wubben-Moy and an extra-time winner from Caitlin Foord allowed our women's team to lift the new trophy aloft.

LET IT ALL WORK OUT

Arsenal 4-1 Tottenham, 2025

Ebere Eze's move to Arsenal caused quite a stir in north London, so when Tottenham came to Emirates Stadium in November, all eyes were on our number 10.

There was only one man people were talking about after the contest as our summer signing lit up the north London derby, firing home a hat-trick in a 4-1 demolition of Tottenham.

SAKA SENDS US TO BUDAPEST

Arsenal 1-0 Atletico Madrid, 2026

One victory separated us from a first Champions League final since our move to Emirates Stadium 20 years ago.

After drawing 1-1 in the first leg against Atletico, it was one of our own, Bukayo Saka, who was the difference maker, prodding home Leandro Trossard's rebound.

As we held on for a 1-0 win, wild scenes greeted the full-time whistle as we reached Europe's biggest stage once more.

BLUES BLOWN AWAY 

Arsenal 4-1 Chelsea Women, 2023

A Women's Super League record crowd greeted our demolition of title rivals Chelsea in December 2023 at Emirates Stadium.

Beth Mead got us off to the perfect start with her goal after just eight minutes. Two goals in two minutes from Amanda Illestedt and Alessia Russo put us into a dominant position. A spot kick from Russo completed the rout against the Blues on a historic day in N5.

RETURN OF THE KING

Arsenal 1-0 Leeds United, 2012

Thierry Henry made a legendary return to us in January 2012, signing once more on a short term loan deal from New York Red Bulls.

His first taste of action came off the bench in the FA Cup third round against Leeds United, it would go down in Arsenal folklore.

After being slipped through by Alex Song, Thierry showed off his trademark finish to open the scoring and send us through to the next round.

SPURS SHOCKED

Arsenal 5-2 Tottenham, 2012

A huge north London derby greeted Emirates Stadium in February 2012, with our rivals Spurs sitting 10 points ahead of us in the race for Champions League football.

We got off to a nightmare start as Luis Saha and Emmanuel Adebayor put the visitors into a 2-0 lead. But a stunning comeback, kick-started by Bacary Sagna ensured we roared back to stun our neighbours and clinch a 5-2 victory, helping turn the tide in the race for top four.

HISTORIC MATCH 

Arsenal 3-2 Everton Women, 2007

History beckoned for our women's team as we made our first appearance at Emirates Stadium in May 2007 against Everton. 

We maintained our 100% record for the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory on a momentous day for our women's team.

Lianne Sanderson and Kelly Smith put us ahead on two occasions but we were pegged back by the Toffees before a late finish from Smith ensured our first women's match in N5 ended in a 3-2 victory.

OVERCOMING CITY

Arsenal 1-0 Manchester City, 2023

Since the arrival of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City in 2016, we'd failed to register a Premier League victory against his side, until 2023.

In a tight match, Gabriel Martinelli's deflected shot with four minutes to play saw Emirates Stadium erupt as we finally got over the line against Pep's chargers.

RICE, RICE BABY

Arsenal 3-1 Manchester United, 2023

Summer 2023 saw Declan Rice make his move from West Ham United to Arsenal.

A crunch match against Manchester United needed a hero with the scores locked at 1-1. Up step Declan Rice.

Chested the ball down from Bukayo Saka's corner, Rice's effort then found the net and prompted huge celebrations in the September sun. Moments later, Gabriel Jesus sealed the deal, wrongfooting Diogo Dalot before calmly slotting home to give us a 3-1 win.

FARWELL ARSENE

Arsenal 5-0 Burnley, 2018

After over 1,000 matches in charge, it was time for Arsene Wenger to say farewell to Arsenal on an emotional day in N5.

His final season at Emirates saw us produce one of our best home records in the stadium's history. To cap it off on a sunny day in May, we netted five times past Burnley to give Arsene the perfect goodbye.

The curtain came down on an illustrious career with an emotion speech and tribute to the Frenchman.

CHELSEA HUMBLED

Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea, 2024

A simmering atmosphere in N5 greeted our London rivals Chelsea as we ripped the Blues apart.

Leandro Trossard got the scoring underway before we found another gear in the second half.

A double from former Blue Kai Havertz, which featured a remarkable assist from Martin Odegaard, was paired with a Ben White brace to complete a huge victory over Mauricio Pochettino's side.
